MKE Week 14-What I Learned in 2017

When I looked back on 2017 four things seemed to stand out: (1) the importance of each day, (2) the importance of friends and family, (3) the importance of eating healthy, exercising, and doing things to keep your brain alert, and (4) the importance of “Me”.

Through the “Master Key Experience”, I refocused on being more aware of the importance of each day. I learned how to organize my day, and schedule my week by determining a set time to do personal growth, to exercise, to experience spiritual growth, to do fun things with my honey, map out doctor’s appointments, and concentrate on my business. Then as I accomplish the events I scheduled I would highlight each one with a different color. It is amazing how being consistent at doing this makes a difference in your whole life and it gave me a superb feeling of accomplishment. Please don’t think that each day went as I had scheduled, because that was not the case; you can’t always manage the unforeseen challenges of life. When my day went as scheduled, it was marvelous. I also did my “To Do” list, which included the various chores of the house, and the crucial events of the day. As I completed these items and crossed them off my list, it made me see how I had accomplished good things in my day. It reinforced what OG Mandino said in scroll 3: “that small attempts, repeated can complete any understanding. I ignore the obstacles at my feet and keep mine eyes on the goals above my head, for I know that where dry desert ends green grass grows.”

The second important thing is friends and family. I’ve been blessed with two people who have been my dear friends for sixty years. They have been my prayer warriors, a support to me when needed, and have shared their love, which I’m forever grateful for. My new friends are amazing, inspiring, encouraging, and a great support system for me. My family is very caring, supportive, incredible, and out of the ordinary. They all have big hearts and a loyalty to each other that is deeply appreciated.

Third is the importance of eating healthy, exercising, and keeping your brain alert. This past year I’ve been going to a nutritionist. She has monitored the foods I’ve been eating, the calorie intake, and provided helpful information to keep me accountable for the foods that I chose to eat. She also encourages me to do various types of exercises to trick my body, and thus helps in losing weight. Keeping my brain alert has been essential and I do that by reading books, doing the mental gym by filling in the shapes that have no writing in it, memorizing key concepts, doing Sudoku, and playing various other mental games like Lumosity.

Lastly learning the importance of “Me”. The Master Key Experience has really opened my eyes to see the importance of the Law of Substitution, which includes replacing my negative attitude with positive affirmations. Also, I began building my confidence through replenishing my negative fears with positive strategies as exemplified in the scrolls, reading the Master Keys, meditating on my desires, designing my Definite Major Purpose essay, discovery new ways to make my desires become a reality, constructing a new blueprint, and getting acquainted with my “future me”.
2017 has been a year of many heartaches & tragedies through out the world. In spite, of not understanding the “whys”, I can appreciate even more all the important things this year has taught me. As Jay Asher said, “You can’t stop the future. You can’t rewind the past. The only way to learn the secret is to press play.” Or Albert Einstein put it this way, “the world as we have created it is a process by our thinking. It cannot be changed, without changing our thinking.” You need to believe you can, you need to be open to change, and you need to be thankful for all the blessings you’ve been given. Remember, 2018 is a new journey, a new opportunity, and a new adventure. It’s up to you, so make it the best, and don’t forget that you totally rock!
